Training Course Syllabus:

This seminar is designed for principals, superintendents, administrators, guidance counselors, school board members, at-risk coordinators, law enforcement officials, teachers, social workers and attorneys.

School Districts, social service organizations, community groups have been looking for ideas and programs that will assist in reducing the risk factors that lead to violence in schools and communities, particularly as it relates to bullying and gang violence. Although the majority of schools in the United States are safe, over the past several years, the number of violent incidents on school campuses and near schools has raised the alarm of school officials and parents. The continued violence that plagues some neighborhoods, including gang related violence, increase in bullying and teen dating violence has fostered renewed safety planning for law enforcement and school officials. Information on “best practice” program models is essential to assist these officials in their efforts. This seminar is designed to provide ideas, strategies, models and prevention interventions to give school districts and law enforcement and their community partners the opportunity to learn real world information on how to protect their children and prevent violence in their schools.
