This seminar is designed for school nurses, school health professionals, superintendents, administrators, principals, guidance counselors, school board members, special education directors, psychologists and attorneys.
The presentation will provide a detailed review of the laws regarding nurses in the school environment and the statutory requirements for dealing with student health issues. Emphasis will be placed on student immunization and protocol for communicable diseases situations. The complex area of student health services under the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act will be simplified into practical application in the day-to-day workings of a school district. The session will be concluded with a question and answer period intended to address all of the school nursing and student health concerns of attendees.
