In the year of HIPAA, Sarbanes-Oxley, Gram-Leach-Bliley, and other federal
and state regulations it becomes more and more important to implement a solid
program of compliance. Adhering to designated statute is not enough. It is
important to develop a solid compliance program to take healthcare organizations
beyond what is minimally necessary to what is sound business practice.
The purpose of this workshop is to assist the attendee in developing a sound
compliance program. This includes program development and activities related to
corporate compliance. The primary point of this workshop is to develop a
compliance program that attempts to cross the lines of regulatory requirements,
not to "reinvent the wheel" each time new regulations are promulgated and to
establish sound business practices around the concept of compliance.
