Training Course Syllabus:

Project Risk Management: Practical Techniques for Failure-Proofing your Projects - Available for Onsite Training ONLY

Do your employees have all the skills they need to proactively address risks that can sabotage their projects?

Today’s projects inherently carry greater risk—and the price of failure has never been higher. Time constraints are tighter and subject to change. Technical challenges are increasingly complex. Inadequate resources are the norm and can derail a project without the right strategy.

This course provides in-depth coverage of Chapter 11 of the PMI PMBOK® guide, and goes beyond it to help your staff reduce or eliminate the impact of multiple risks. They’ll learn how to identify project risks and discover techniques for effectively dealing with them. Practical methods for completing difficult projects through the application of project risk management concepts and methods will be explored. Through hands-on practice, instructor feedback and team interaction, your employees will reinforce and apply these concepts and return to their job with a plan for dealing with risks in their own project environment.

Your Staff Will Discover How To:

  • Learn specific practices for uncovering project risks
  • Gain a thorough understanding of risk assessment techniques
  • Understand how to lessen the impact of risks on key project components
  • Acquire specific strategies and methods to respond to significant project risks
  • Make a personal plan for dealing with risks in your project environment

Topics Covered:

  • Sources of scope, schedule and resource risk
  • High-level risk-assessment techniques
  • Estimating, workflow, constraints and project optimization risks
  • Risk response planning: prevention, mitigation, transfer and acceptance
  • PERT, simulation and computer modeling
  • Project tracking and risk monitoring
  • Project risk reviews and retrospectives

Who Should Attend
