Training Course Syllabus:


This seminar will address community development trends in land preservation, redevelopment, conservation, housing concerns and other emerging topics. The experienced faculty will give you a clear understanding of these current developments, as well as providing a view of the future development issues. One instructor will review the neighborhood and redevelopment plans in connection with the planned 1.25-mile Newtown Pike Extension Corridor southwest of downtown Lexington. This is a long-planned, much needed new urban boulevard designed to be an amenity for the surrounding neighborhoods and in support of continuing redevelopment of the area. Another presentation will review the adopted infill and redevelopment strategy for Lexington in wanting to encourage high quality redevelopment and efficient utilization of the core city and as part of the growth strategy for the region.
