John Jensen

•Psychologist licensed in Alaska, currently working in Arizona
•In the early nineties, he made a discovery about how certain motives engaged simultaneously generate students’ skill and zest for learning
•Has tested these methods successfully with teachers and schools in a dozen states; in a center for emotionally and behaviorally disturbed teenagers, in a school in his own home for two years for 8-10th grade public school dropouts, and in charter schools in Arizona
•Last year, Rowman and Littlefield published his 3-volume Practice Makes Permanent series for turning classrooms around quickly
•The Effective Classroom Turnaround volume recently received a favorable review and recommendation in Choice magazine for librarians
•His blogs on child development and classroom methods have appeared frequently in EducationNews.org for several years
•While pursuing a Ph.D. degree with Union Institute in Cincinnati, he became interested in how classroom methods affect students and has pursued that study ever since
•Has spoken frequently on topics related to his areas of expertise
