PROGRAM DETAILS

Addiction, depression, loss, physical pain, frustration, stress -- every day we experience suffering, whether it is happening with clients or within ourselves. Individuals can benefit greatly from the care of a competent, skilled practitioner. However, anyone can experience a more profound therapeutic experience if empowered with self-healing techniques. Mindfulness is a meditation method that is best described as non-judgmental awareness leading to a deep sense of inner peace and calm. It is an effective tool for breaking through negative behaviors, difficult emotions and feelings. It can be used in conjunction with other therapeutic modalities to effectively treat these problems. So, how do you engage in mindfulness and how do you teach it to clients?

Participants in this interactive one-day seminar will examine and experience mindfulness -- a powerful way to explore your thoughts, emotions and physical sensations and gain deep insight into the cause of suffering and the liberating reality of impermanence. The application of mindfulness for treating specific problems, including depression, anxiety, physical pain, substance addiction and other types of compulsive behavior will be presented. Attendees will be prepared to immediately apply this unique healing instrument in professional practice and personal life. Through lecture, discussion and the experiential component of guided meditation, you will come to appreciate what some have called "the
miracle of mindfulness."
