Preparing Future Leaders - A Guide To
Succession Planning Webinar -
Executive / Management / Leadership Training Webinar
Program Description:
Succession planning is a systematic approach to
ensuring that an organization has a steady, reliable pipeline of talent to meet
its future needs in leadership and other essential roles. It just makes good
business sense for every organization to develop systems to support succession
planning, right?
And yet, executives and HR professionals worry that they lack sufficient “ready
now” candidates to replace predicted and unpredicted losses of key leaders. As a
result, they foresee significant challenges to future business continuity and
performance. But here’s the irony: many of these executives and HR professionals
also note that their companies have been doing succession planning for years.
The bad news: they judge their succession planning processes as adequate at
best, and they give their execution of succession plans a failing grade.
If you’re among those who are dissatisfied with the impact of your succession
planning process, you have plenty of company. That’s why you need Preparing
Future Leaders: A Guide to Succession Planning.
A Look At Your Agenda:
- The key processes involved in succession
planning and talent development and how they can go wrong
- The necessary link from succession planning to
strategic planning and what to do if that link is broken
- The roles of the board of directors, executive
team, HR, and high-potential individuals in succession planning and what to do
if one group isn’t sufficiently engaged
- Why performance assessment and evaluation
processes need to be robust and how to reengineer those which are inadequate
- Balancing the mix of future leaders from
within and hiring those from without, and what to do if the balance is off
- Effective monitoring, measuring, and follow-up
processes and what to do if those processes are measuring the wrong things or
are unduly time-consuming and bureaucratic
