Tracing the evolution of federal food labeling laws, along with courts´ challenges to them, this course will start with regulations, highlight significant court decisions related to violations of labeling laws, outline current labeling requirements and changes, then conclude with a discussion of the Responsible Corporate Officer Doctrine and its recent implications on food corporations.

The instructor brings over 20 years of personal involvement, consultation, academic research, and journalistic experience to the course. Deciphering and historical analysis of legal and political evidence through case studies and current events will allow digging deep into the judicial forces that drive the concerns in board rooms within the food industry and beyond.
