Global Personal Data Transfer Solutions Webinar
Time: 10:00 AM PST | 01:00 PM EST
Duration: 90 Minutes
Instructor: Robert Bond
This webinar will analyze the different models and solutions to enable global businesses to share personal information in compliance with the law. In order for global businesses to comply with the increasing regulation of personal data transfers, businesses need to be aware of the different global data privacy laws and their impact on data sharing as well as the different solutions that are currently available to manage compliance when transferring data cross border.
While consent is a mechanism to allow data sharing, it does not always apply particularly in the case of employee data. Therefore other solutions that are available and which are in some cases mandatory include the EU Model Clauses, Codes of Conduct and Binding Corporate Rules, Seals and Trust Marks and the EU/US and Swiss/US Safe Harbor.
In the Asia Pacific region, there is a privacy program in relation to cross border data sharing within the APEC countries. These solutions will be discussed in detail along with a review of the cost of non-compliance.
