Creative Mindfulness Techniques for Clients

PROGRAM DESCRIPTION

We've all heard the buzz surrounding the practice of mindfulness. But is it simply a hot trend, or an evidence-based approach that can serve the needs of our clients? Join trauma expert, Dr. Jamie Marich — creator of the Dancing Mindfulness practice — in this unique training that demystifies the practice of mindfulness and teaches you how to use your creativity and existing clinical knowledge. The best part of Dr. Marich's approach is that you do not have to abandon your existing clinical orientation in the process. With her focus on creativity, multisensory learning, and a commitment to meeting clients where they are, Dr. Marich shows you how to work with common client complaints using breath, guided visualization, and mindfulness-informed interventions. Enhance your effectiveness in working with depression, anxiety, trauma stabilization, and addictive disorders, while developing skills that will help prevent your own clinical burnout.

WHAT YOU WILL LEARN

• Describe how mindfulness-informed interventions are relevant for working with clients in clinical mental health and recovery settings
• Summarize the research on mindfulness-informed techniques and list which modern approaches to psychotherapy make use of mindfulness techniques and/or philosophy
• Examine and practice 10 mindfulness-informed clinical strategies
• Gain the proper tools to prevent clinician burnout
