Functional Employment Testing is an ADA compliant method to insure that a new hire can safely perform the essential functions of a job and does not possess any pre-existing conditions that will predispose the worker to injury if hired. When used as a return-to-work evaluation after a long-term injury or illness, the Functional Employment Test can objectively determine a worker’s abilities and limitations thus enabling the worker to safely return to full or transitional duty.
