Benefits

The bankruptcy world is full of traps for all professionals. Not only must you be familiar with the Bankruptcy Code, which is often amended, and case law, but also the often overlooked federal rules of bankruptcy procedure, local rules and judge-specific rules. Scott Brown - a national humor columnist by day and a bankruptcy lawyer by night - puts a unique spin on issues germane to the bankruptcy world. A former clerk for a bankruptcy judge and a partner with a nationally recognized law firm, Mr. Brown has seen both sides of the curtain. In these capacities he has worked with courtroom staff, paralegals and legal assistants on a regular basis. This teleconference will offer advice for working with courtroom staff and addressing bankruptcy cases from most points of view - debtor, creditor and trustee. Specific attention will be given to keeping costs down, spotting the important issues quickly and effectively and maintaining a good attitude during stressful phases of the case.
